| Individuals for the ITIL Master level are required to have achieved the ITIL Service Management Expert certification and demonstrate practical application experience of at least five years through a peer evaluation scheme. |

Candidates for the ITIL Master qualification must submit in writing a real-world project of their choise, elaborate on the knowledge they applied to implement real solutions, and demonstrate the continued effectiveness of the solution and its benefits to the business. Certification is the outcome of a positive assessment of the project, followed by a successful interview with the Assesors.
