Every year City & Guilds awards over 50% of all "National Vocational Qualifications" in the UK. On the international scene, City & Guilds is active in over 100 countries, while it works closely with government officials to create and establish qualifications that fortify local/national qualifications.
Qualification programmes outside the UK are called IVQs (International Vocational Qualifications) and have been designed to measure candidates’ theoretical knowledge as well as their practical skills, so that they can meet the demands of any job. They have been designed for the global marketplace and cover a very broad range of professional fields, such as hairdressing, beauty therapy, tourism, telecommunications and retailing, among many others.
What are IVQs
International Vocational Qualifications (IVQs) are qualifications certifying skills at the post-secondary and undergraduate level of training that have been specially designed for the global marketplace. They are designed in collaboration with employers and experts, testing expertise and skills in terms of both theory and practice.
They arm holders with efficiency in the field of their choice, helping them to find immediate employment in the job market. IVQs are recognized in over 100 countries and afford excellent opportunities for professional development.
