Developer

The  Department

The Research and Development department is an internal software house that designs and develops software applications in order to manage all type of examinations that are conducted 24x7, worldwide. The applications are web based, client/server or desktop. The applications include various libraries for Optical Marking Recognition, Google APIs for Georeference, etc. The various applications make use of web services in order to exchange data and/or link servers. The software architecture security is based on ISO 27001.

The  Role

The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, assessing, and troubleshooting software programs and applications (used 24x7) which include: configuring, analyzing, designing, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle. He will also contribute in the estimates of the project, the quality and timeliness of the deliverables and the project’s compliance to the organizational processes and standards. Beginning with the planning and design stages, he will identify system requirements working with other developers to develop designs, integrate components, and lead technical test, deployment and support projects. In addition to ability to establish efficient technical review, deployment, and support processes, including tools and environments.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain computer programs related to business concepts using Team Foundation 2010
• Perform unit tests and preliminary debugging to ensure that the programs work as they are supposed to
• Apply the corrections proposed by the analysts and/or the software quality assurance team
• Coordinate with the chief architect, analysts and other programmers
• Ability to research new technologies, tools and solutions
• Act as second level of support for production systems users
• Transfer knowledge and know-how to other developers 

Job Requirements:

• University and/or Postgraduate Degree in a relevant field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar position
• Excellent knowledge of C#, Windows Forms, WPF, ASP.NET
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8 R2
• Excellent knowledge of Ajax, Javascript
• Excellent command of the English Language (Level C2)
• Ability to work in a team under chief architect and analyst guidelines using agile software development (SCRUM)
• Excellent organizational and ability to work under pressure
• Teamwork attitude
• ECDL Core/Expert certification and prior working experience in the personnel certification field (English Language Testing market IT Certification) will be considered an asset
