What’s new?
Following the rebranding of our project, programme, and portfolio management certifications under the PRINCE2® brand (PRINCE2®: A new chapter in excellence |) and within the qualification scheme , we have updated the PRINCE2 certification names for greater clarity and consistency with the roles and responsibilities of project professionals. In addition, we have introduced version numbers to the portfolio for consistency. The following table shows the changes that have been implemented so far.

What does this mean for you?
The certification status will stay the same , and your certificate(s) will remain valid for the duration specified on your certificate.
If you hold a PRINCE2® 7 certificate, the new name will automatically appear on your e-certificate and digital badge during the week of 12 January 2026. No action is required on your part. . Please allow at least 48 hours for changes to appear on shared platforms.
If you get certified after the name changes have been implemented, your e-certificate and digital badge will feature the new certification name.
Please note that for PRINCE2® Programme Management, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and PMO Management, the certificate titles will remain the same until a new version of the certificate is released, at which time they will be updated. The product name changes only apply to PeopleCert official assets, such as the Official Book, Official Training Materials, and exam preparation materials.
